Charter options
We offer half, three-quarter, and full-day fishing charters for 1-2 anglers. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Captain Braden Powell is USCG licensed, fully insured, and is very well respected as a Charleston fly fishing guide & inshore charter captain.
We work hard for clients, and want you to leave feeling excited about coming back again. Depending on your trip goals and timeframe, we’ll customize a fishing charter to meet your specific needs in the beautiful marshes of the South Carolina Lowcountry.

PAYMENTS & CANCELLATIONS

All charters are weather permitting and will be up to the Captain’s discretion if the trip needs to be rescheduled. All bookings require a 30% deposit to secure the date. This deposit is non-refundable once within 30 days of the booking date. Requests to change a trip date are subject to availability and may not always be accommodated. Any cancellations by the customer within 48 hours of the booking date or no-shows on the charter date will result in a charge of the full balance of the trip.
Full trip balance can be paid the day of the charter with cash, check, or Venmo/Zelle.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Each fishing charter comes with an experienced and friendly captain, along with the required South Carolina saltwater fishing license, fishing gear, ice and waters.
WHAT TO BRING & NOT TO BRING
When preparing for your fishing trip, remember to bring along essentials such as polarized sunglasses (important for sight fishing!), shoes with non-marking soles, hat, sunscreen, cold weather clothing if needed, and snacks and/or lunch for full day charters.
However, please refrain from bringing glass bottles, liquor, drugs, GPS devices, or spray sunscreen. Additionally, ensure that any coolers brought aboard are of a reasonable size to allow ample space for food and drinks, as larger coolers may be difficult to accommodate on the boat.
MEETING LOCATION
All fishing charters will launch from St. Johns Yacht Harbor. The SJYH marina is perfectly located within a short boat ride to multiple different fishing areas allowing Braden to determine the best fishing spots depending on the weather and tides. There are times when the Captain can meet you at your preferred boat launch, dock or hotel. Captain Braden will be in touch with details prior to your booked trip.
TIPPING YOUR CAPTAIN
Our goal at FishWater Outfitters is to provide guests with fun and memorable fishing experiences and we work hard to make sure that’s the case everyday on the water. How much you tip your fishing charter captain is up to you, but a 20% tip on your charter price is common across the industry.
